Miscellaneous Metalwork

Metalworking is fun, it presents new challenges from woodworking. Of course, an entirely new set of tools is necessary which is fine with this tool junkie.  My arsenal includes MIG, TIG and stick welders, Oxy-Acetylene and plasma cutters, benders, presses, rollers, tables, clamps, grinders and paint. Grinders and paint make me the welder I ain’t! This blog post will give my website visitors some insight into my metalworking hobby which started years ago when I bought a Miller Thunderbolt AC welder for repairing old stuff and making new stuff. Not the most versatile machine, but I got by for decades with it until I retired.  Now I have more play time to make fun things so I sold the old buzz box and my investment in new machines became significant.

Plasma Torch
Cutting metal is far more difficult than cutting wood unless you have the right tools. My little Hobart AirForce 27i makes short work of the cutting process.
Harbor Freight Bender
When metal flat stock or round stock needs to be formed, this little floor mounted bender from Harbor Freight makes bending very easy.
